Q.How did Mrs. Jones treat Roger in house?
Or
Describe the motherly affection noticed in the character of Mrs. Jones.
Ans:-After Roger’s futile attempt of snatching the purse, Mrs. Jones brought him to her house, gripping his shirt firmly. On the way she noticed that Roger was frail and weak, and his face was also dirty. So, after dragging him to her house, she let him loose to wash his face. On the other hand she cooked food with motherly affection and served him. After dinner being over, she gave him half of a ten cent cake as dessert. Even at the time of departing, she gave Roger ten dollars to buy blue suede shoes, for which he had attempted snatching.
All the above mentioned activities show that Mrs. Jones treated Roger with motherly love and affection.
Q.Why did the boy try to snatch the purse of Mrs. Jones? How did Mrs. Jones stop Roger from snatching?
Ans:-At about eleven o’ clock when Mrs. Jones was returning from her working place, Roger, a fourteen year old boy ran up behind her and tried to snatch her purse. The strap of the purse broke as Roger gave the tug from behind; and Roger’s own weight combined with the weight of the purse, caused him lose balance. So Roger fell on his back on the sidewalk. Mrs. Jones immediately turned around and kicked Roger with full blow right at his abdomen. She picked him up by his shirt front and shook him vigorously until his teeth rattled.

Q. “When I get through with you, sir, you are going to remember Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones.” Imagine that you are Roger and that about ten years have passed since that night of your encounter with Mrs. Jones. Write her a letter telling her about how you felt that night and the tremendous impact her personality has had on your life ever since.
Ans:-Dear Mrs. Jones,
I am Roger. Once I tried to snatch your purse. You caught red handed. I was frightened. I thought that I would be handed over to the police. But you brought to your house. You washed my face with monthly affection. You gave me 10 dollar to buy suede shoes. Your appearance, your personality, your affection put an impact on me. I still remember that night after a distant gap of about 10 years. I learnt from you to forgive. Now I am 24 years old. I have become a successful Teacher. Your personality Trans formed me to the path of truth.

Yours Affectionately
Roger
Q. How did Mrs. Jones bring Roger at her resident?
Ans:-Mrs. Jones dragged Roger down the street. She picked his shirt front. Roger straggled a lot to get him loose. But Mrs. Jones put a half nelson about his neck. She continued to drag to him up the street. Mrs. Jones jerked him around in front of her. Reaching her door stapes, she opened the door. She dragged Roger in side down a hole. Gripping by the neck, she brought in the middle of her room. At last Mrs. Jones turned loose to wash his face.
